In April, Norway Health Tech and the Nordic trade promotion agencies in Toronto are showcasing Nordic companies at Toronto Innovation Week 2019.
The showcase at Toronto Innovation Week is part of a Nordic project run by Norway Health Tech and the Nordic trade promotion agencies in Toronto to pave the way for Nordic health tech companies looking to Canada.
The project started up in 2018 and has so far successfully recruited several hospitals, long-term care homes, home care organisations and go-to-market specialists in Toronto. The partners have also carried out several workshops in the Nordic countries to recruit companies – receiving 28 applications for joining the platform by the end of 2018.
First concrete step
Now, 18 Nordic companies have been selected for the platform and will travel to Toronto Innovation Week the first week in April to showcase their solutions. This is the first concrete step in bringing Nordic companies with innovative health tech solutions for smart and sustainable health services to Canada through the platform.
“The overall objective is to build a sustainable, high-value-creating, Nordic multi-stakeholder platform that exports innovative solutions for sustainable health care to Toronto and Ontario focusing on healthy ageing, rehab, and digital health”
Odd Arild Lehne, Norway Health Tech
Supported by the Nordic prime ministers
The project is developed as part of the Nordic Welfare Solutions project run by Nordic Innovation. Nordic Welfare Solutions is one of six flagship projects that makes up the five Nordic prime ministers’ initiative Nordic Solutions to Global Challenges, which is coordinated by the Nordic Council of Ministers.
Nordic Welfare Solutions aims at showcasing and demonstrating Nordic welfare solutions to the global market.
