Dossier Expands in Germany: Building network for healthcare competence

  • More news on Norway Health Tech

The Norwegian company Dossier Solutions has expanded to several countries in recent years, establishing a presence in the USA, Singapore, and across the Nordic region. Now, the company is on the verge of a breakthrough in Germany, where it is introducing an innovative business model in which customers become part of a valuable competence network.

With over 500,000 users worldwide and clients such as Mount Sinai, Ascension Health, Cleveland Clinic, UCLA Health, Helse Sør-Øst (Norway’s largest health trust), and SingHealth, Dossier has positioned itself as a leader in competence management for the healthcare sector.

In recent years, Dossier has focused on Germany moving beyond initial innovation projects to establish long-term partnerships with several German university hospitals. Their solutions align with a growing trend in healthcare; the increasing importance of structured competence management to address workforce shortages facilitate task-shifting.

Unlocking Network Effects

At the heart of Dossier’s expansion in Germany is an ongoing project with the university hospitals in Bonn and Göttingen. The goal is to create a national digital platform for healthcare competency, leveraging Dossier’s technology and expertise from Norway.

–  We’ve taken the lessons learned in Norway and adapted them to the German market, bringing together a community of university hospitals. Our ambition is to build a network that can elevate competence work on a national level, says Even Harket, COO of Dossier.

From Project to Partnership

The initial innovation projects in Germany will conclude in spring 2025, with Bonn and Göttingen serving as gateways to a new wave of hospitals. Several major German university hospitals are now joining the collaboration and will, over the next year, implement Dossier for thousands of employees while also contributing as innovation partners.

– By getting these major hospitals on board, we can build a structure that allows us to scale nationally across Germany. We’re experiencing strong trust and enthusiasm from our German partners, Harket explains.

Learning from Norway`s Success

Dossier’s approach is heavily influenced by Norway’s collaborative healthcare model, which integrates hospitals, municipalities and health authorities.

– The sharing culture in Norway is unique. German hospitals are eager to learn from it. Establishing a shared framework for healthcare competence – as we’ve done in Norway – is a model we aim to replicate, says the COO.

Innovation Norway and the health cluster Norway Health Tech has played key roles in this expansion, providing both financial supporter and access to new opportunities.

Technology Meets Strategy

Dossier’s platform is a web-based SaaS solution with a high level of automation and a comprehensive suite of features.

– This is not just about technology – it’s about processes, content, and culture. We’re not just selling a product; we’re selling a way of working. That’s where the real value lies for hospitals, Harket emphasizes.

In addition to the German expansion, the company continues to grow in the U.S., where they’ve implemented Dossier in over 500 hospitals in recent years through a scalable and effective market approach.

A Future Built on Partnerships

With a clear strategy, strong partners, and support from both German and Norwegian stakeholders, Dossier has positioned itself as a key player in shaping the future of healthcare – across borders.

– We have a long-term vision, and we believe in the power of collaboration. This is about tackling the biggest challenges in the healthcare sector – together, Harket concludes.
