Innovation and technology development in Israel and Norway: Potential for business-to-business ventures and cooperation

03 - 04 June
09:00 - 16:00

Tel Aviv - Israel

This conference will bring together representatives from the innovation ecosystems in Norway and Israel, i.e. the authorities, academia, finance, and incubators. They will meet start-ups and businesses from the two countries who search for prospective partners.

Background: On January 12, 2017, Norway and Israel signed a memorandum of understanding on promoting cooperation between the two countries within research, innovation and development. Israel and Norway have economies of similar size; both are open economies with a global outlook and both countries face similar challenges in innovation and development for a sustainable future. Both countries have developed succesful innovation ecosystems, with international and global reach. Norwegian and Israeli researchers have a strong cooperation record within research programs like Horizon 2020.

This conference aims at taking our cooperation a step further, by stimulating exchanges between our innovation ecosystems, as well as promoting cooperation between businesses. Therefore, the conference will be tailormade according to the interests and profiles of the participating businesses. The participants will get a unique opportunity to become acquainted with ideas and technologies that are available in Israel and in Norway, within their own, specific fields of business.

The aim is to stimulate business-to-business cooperation and partnerships between Israel and Norway, as well as mutual learning between the national innovation ecosystems. Both the Israeli and the Norwegian participants are globally-oriented and they will bring interesting international networks to the conference.

Format and organisation:

The first part of the conference will present the innovation and technology development ecosystems in both countries, and how they can assist future business partners from Norway and Israel.

The second part of the conference will present innovative businesses working within the sectors targeted by the conference. These presentations will take place in roundtable format, followed by business-to-business meetings and field visits during the second day of the conference.
