Health Reform 3.0: What if we could access all the data?

Sveinung Tornås, CEO of Norway Health Tech, will take part in the panel.

The Health Reform Commission is soon set to present its recommendations on how future healthcare services should be organised, governed and financed. So far, however, the debate has largely focused on traditional stakeholders such as hospitals, municipalities and general practitioners.

At the same time, a wide range of other actors are seeking a place in the healthcare system of the future. Fitness centres such as SATS, the Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sports, physiotherapists, dentists and psychologists all argue that they have a natural and important role to play. Patient organisations and private healthcare providers likewise often find themselves outside the conversation when the framework for reform is being shaped.

The banking and financial sectors have demonstrated how open infrastructure, where new actors can easily connect through shared standards and interfaces, can make innovation the norm rather than the exception. Can healthcare learn from this approach?

This session explores who should actually be considered part of the healthcare system in 2027, and how we can build an infrastructure that makes it just as natural for new actors to contribute to healthcare as it is today in banking and finance.

Testarena Norway – one national team for health innovation testing

Hosted by Norway Health Tech and Testarena Norway

Norway has world-class expertise, clinical environments and industry competence that can be leveraged to develop innovative health technologies. Today, however, the landscape is fragmented, making it difficult for companies to connect with the right testing and expert environments at the right stage of development.

To address this, NHT Lab is building Testarena Norway: a national testing ecosystem that connects regional nodes across the country through a shared infrastructure and coordinated network. Through formal partnerships with leading regional competence centres, suppliers gain faster access to testing facilities, expert environments and relevant user groups, supporting the journey from idea and validation to implementation and scale-up.

In this session, we will present how the model works, what has already been established, and how Norway can strengthen its position as an attractive national and international destination for health innovation testing.
