The delegation met selected member companies in the cluster and was introduced to solutions spanning clinical simulation, preparedness and emergency medicine, digital documentation, workflow optimisation, and systems for quality, patient safety and automation.
Showcasing the breadth of Norwegian health technology
According to Trine Radmann, Head of International Affairs at Norway Health Tech, the visit was an important opportunity to highlight both technology and collaboration models.
– This was a valuable opportunity to share our vision and demonstrate how Norwegian health technology companies are helping address shared challenges in European healthcare systems. The dialogue with the German Health Committee strengthens the foundation for further collaboration and cross-border innovation, says Radmann.
Several of the solutions presented are already in use internationally, including in the German market.
Strong interest in preparedness and digital tools
Among the participating companies was EpiGuard, which showcased solutions for medical evacuation and emergency preparedness.
– This was an excellent opportunity to present Norwegian innovations in medical preparedness. We truly appreciate the delegation’s curiosity and engagement, says Michael Eimstad, CEO of EpiGuard.
Digital decision-support tools and patient safety were also central themes in the discussions.
– It was inspiring to see German health leaders show genuine interest in how evidence-based digital decision-support tools can strengthen clinical training, clinical practice and patient safety, says Rebekka Sørlie, Head of Marketing at VAR Healthcare.
Timely in light of reforms in Germany
Reforms are currently underway in Germany within emergency medicine and emergency services, making the dialogue particularly relevant.
– The discussions confirmed that innovative digital tools for emergency services are more relevant than ever. With ongoing reforms in the German emergency medical system, the timing of this dialogue was particularly good, says Martin Alexander Kasseth, interim CEO of Bliksund.

Automation and the use of artificial intelligence in hospital operations were also key topics during the visit.
– It was a very useful meeting, with strong dialogue on how automation and AI can improve hospital workflows. We see significant opportunities going forward, says Niklas Lüder Barre, Head of Germany at Flow Technologies.
Strategically important dialogue
According to Lucie Meltzer, international advisor at Norway Health Tech, closer dialogue with Germany is a strategic priority for the cluster.
– Germany is one of Europe’s most important health technology markets. By facilitating meeting places between decision-makers and Norwegian companies, we build understanding, trust and a foundation for long-term collaboration, says Meltzer.
Norway Health Tech thanks the German Health Committee for the visit and the constructive discussions, and looks forward to continued dialogue and cooperation between the German and Norwegian health technology ecosystems.
