CEO steps down after five years – Norway Health Tech enters its next phase and begins search for new leader

PRESS RELEASE
Oslo, 07.11.2025

Norway’s largest health cluster, Norway Health Tech (NHT), announces today that CEO Lena Nymo Helli has resigned from her position. Helli will take on a new leadership role as Country Manager at Coloplast Norge AS. She will continue in her current role until March 31, 2026.

“After almost five years at Norway Health Tech, I am ready for the next step in my career. It has been an amazing journey to lead the cluster and work with our member companies to create growth and accelerate the implementation of new solutions in the health services,” says Lena Nymo Helli.

Five years that transformed the cluster

Under Helli’s leadership, Norway Health Tech has undergone significant strategic development:

• In 2025, Norwegian Smart Care Cluster and Norway Health Tech merged to form the country’s largest national health and technology cluster, now counting 310 members.
• The cluster has strengthened its national presence with offices in Oslo, Stavanger and Bergen, and established regional nodes in Innlandet and Trondheim.
• Public–private collaboration has been reinforced through the establishment of the partnership and innovation arena Health2B together with Oslo University Hospital and Oslo Science Park.
• Norway Health Tech has supported the national push to position health as a future export industry, and leading international programs targeting the UK, USA, the Nordics and Germany.
• The cluster has expanded its focus on testing through the HealthCatalyst initiative, work on the national health catapult project, and coordination of the Nordic Proof test network with 12 partners.

Helli describes the departure as bittersweet. With a strong team around her, the work in the cluster has been both meaningful and enjoyable.

“The most inspiring part has been working with our members. I will truly miss the energy, the meeting arenas and the opportunities that emerge when we build an ecosystem together.”, she says.

Helli now steps into a role that allows her to combine her background from corporate pharma, board experience in the health sector, and passion for innovation, technology and leadership.

“I am moving into a position in a large and successful company that allows me to be closer to the business, continue working with leadership and keep contributing to medtech and healthcare – ultimately for the benefit of patients. It is exactly the next step I hoped for,” she adds.

Recruiting a new CEO to shape the cluster’s next chapter

The Board has initiated the recruitment process to find a new CEO. The role represents a unique opportunity for a leader who wants to influence the development of Norway’s health industry – a sector now facing strong growth and increasing political prioritization.

“Lena has elevated the cluster to a national force within health technology and medtech. Under her leadership, we have changed our operating model, merged two clusters into one united organization, and positioned health technology as a future export industry for Norway. She has been a bold and clear voice on behalf of our members and helped put health technology on the national agenda,” says Janne T. Morstøl, Chair of the Board at Norway Health Tech.

As the leader of Norway’s largest health and technology cluster, the new CEO will hold a strategic role with substantial influence, working closely with companies, healthcare providers, investors and authorities, both nationally and internationally.

“For the right candidate, this is a rare opportunity to help shape the future of healthcare services and develop a new, globally competitive Norwegian export industry,” Morstøl concludes.
