Four Norwegian health clusters – Norway Health Tech, Norwegian Smart Care Cluster, Oslo Cancer Cluster, and The Life Science Cluster – join forces in the USA Next project. Together, we are now launching a road map to help Norwegian companies succeed in the American market.
– USA is the world’s largest market for healthcare services. This roadmap is not only a resource, but also a powerful tool for Norwegian companies who want to enter the American market, says Trine Radmann, who is Head of Export and Internationalization at Norway Health Tech.

Roadmap to International Success
The project group for USA Next, supported by Viken County Municipality, has tailored a road map during the past two years to make the American market more accessible and visible to Norwegian companies.
– We hope the roadmap can help Norwegian companies make informed choices that support their journey to the US and strengthen the bilateral cooperation between Norwegian and American companies, R&D, hospitals and relevant ecosystems, Radmann says.
The roadmap will be a useful component in the companies strategic work before entering into the American market. USA has 50 states, all of which have different focus areas when it comes to health. Through the roadmap, the companies will become familiar with the various regional initiatives and how the American health systems work. The roadmap also provides a thorough understanding of regulatory guidelines and patient demographics. The content is tailored for companies in digital health, medical technology, diagnostics and pharmaceuticals.
– Our focus has been to give the actors in the health industry basic competence and insight to handle the challenges and opportunities which USA represents, Radmann states.
The United States as a Global Hub
Today, USA is a global hub for the international health industry, and the opportunities for Norwegian companies are enormous. The US is not only a big market, but also a place where investor capital and important alliance partners have their headquarters. To scale and grow in a market of this size, strategic insights and dedicated support are essential.
– Together, the clusters have built a valuable knowledge base through several trips to the USA, and visits from important environments in health. We have built networks, delved into complex systems, and developed a deep understanding of the US healthcare market. The roadmap is the result of unique expertise, experience and dedicated efforts from the clusters, says Radmann.
