According to an EU/EEA-wide study published in October 2016 by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), an agency of the European Union, 3.5 million Europeans contract an infection while in hospital and 2.5 million die or are seriously debilitated as a result.

The mission of HygoTech AS is to provide innovative, patented solutions to reduce infection risk in hospitals. The solutions are designed to be robust, user friendly and hygienic, with low lifecycle cost and positive process flow impact. To meet these targets, technologies such as LIDAR, IOT and AI are used.

The company was founded in 2017 and has been awarded its first patents. The first pilot installation has been deployed at a major hospital in Norway. The first capital seed round is closing in April 2018.
