Nordic Proof signed 350 agreements in a growing market

Nordic Proof, the Nordic consortium of health technology test environments, has handled more than 1,000 industry enquiries since 2022, involving over 600 companies from 27 countries. Around 35 percent of these enquiries have resulted in testing agreements, corresponding to approximately 350 agreements.

This is outlined in a report presenting the results and key milestones of the international project that has developed into the Nordic Proof consortium and network.
After ten years, Nordic Innovation has ended its funding of the initiative. Nordic Proof therefore currently operates without external project funding.
– The network itself, however, continues as before. Nordic Proof is fully operational and funded by its partner organisations. The network is a long-term structure that will continue its work, says Karoline Blikra Mokleiv in an interview with Medtech & Digital Hälsa. She heads Norway Health Tech Lab, one of the partners in Nordic Proof.
She says the network’s work over the past ten years has been characterised by a long-term Nordic commitment to collaboration. Hospitals, municipalities, universities and test environments in all five Nordic countries have prioritised collaboration with industry and research and development.
– They have maintained this commitment year after year. This gives companies a coordinated Nordic approach to testing and market access that no single test environment could offer on its own.
Over the years, the network has also established contacts outside the Nordic region. The summary report shows that since 2022, the network has handled more than 1,000 industry enquiries from over 600 companies in 27 countries.
– Around 35 percent of the enquiries have resulted in testing agreements, corresponding to approximately 350 agreements. A growing share of these companies come from outside the Nordic region, including the UK, Germany and the Netherlands, says Karoline Blikra Mokleiv.
Ten of the projects are presented as examples of successful collaborations on the Nordic Proof website.
Mokleiv says Nordic Proof’s most important overall achievement is the combined impact its partners have had on the market.
– Nordic Proof is only as strong as our partners. What we are most proud of is the quality and tangible value our partners deliver when they test, validate and develop solutions together with companies, from early prototypes to market-ready products, she says.

Expanding the partnership
What are the main expectations for Nordic Proof’s activities over the next two to three years?
– Closer ties with Europe, starting with the Netherlands, says Mokleiv. This year, Nordic Proof expanded its core partnership by adding its first partner outside the Nordic region, the TechMed Centre at the University of Twente.
– We look forward to even closer collaboration with the Netherlands and to working more systematically to position the Nordic region as an attractive location for industry research, development and testing in Europe.
There are also plans to adopt a more thematic and needs-driven approach. This means focusing more clearly on strategic areas where the partners have both the interest and capacity to carry out testing.
– These include AI-based solutions, home-based care models, diagnostic imaging, as well as dual-use technology and preparedness. In the coming years, we will launch thematic initiatives and new forms of collaboration in these areas, says Mokleiv, before continuing:
– At the same time, we remain open to all types of health technology. The aim is to match each company’s testing needs more precisely with the right testing capacity.
The plans also include expanding the network’s capacity.
– With Finland’s Lapland Testbed and Sweden’s PICTA joining in 2026, we are expanding both our geographical reach and our service capacity. This also extends into other areas, such as the defence sector with dual-use technology, as well as preparedness and resilience, says Karoline Blikra Mokleiv.
Nordic Proof launched a new website in spring 2026. The aim is to give companies a clear overview of Nordic Proof’s partners, testing capacity and examples of successful projects. The website is also designed to make it easier to submit testing requests in a structured way.
