Erik Fosse is a professor of medicine and the co-founder of Norwegian Aid Committee (NORWAC) He is a former head of research and development at The Intervention Center at Rikshospitalet, Oslo University Hospital, and one of the initiators of Norway Health Tech.

Fosse is best known for his decade-long and tireless work for the people of Gaza. He has received the honorable Order of St. Olav.

At The Healthtech Festival, he will speak about his work and his outlook for the future of health care.

Prof. Dr. Julian Varghese is a computer scientist and medical doctor by training. He graduated at the medical school of University of Münster and finished his Bachelor and Master of Computer Science at the University of Hagen and the Imperial College London.

He is an award winner of the European Federation of the Medical Informatics Association (EFMI) and member of the German Association for Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology (GMDS).

Since 2021 he has been heading the institute of Medical Informatics at the University of Münster. His research focuses on methods of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine, Medical Data Integration and Interoperability as well as Biomedical Informatics. His institute is certified according to DIN EN ISO 13485 for development of AI-software as medical device for clinical routine use.

Ole Kristian Thu is an anesthesiologist with a ph.d. in medicine. He has a diverse clinical background both from pre-hospital-, military-, primary- and specialized healthcare.

He’s working at Stavanger University Hospital with anesthesiology and intensive care medicine, and as Chief Medical Officer in VitalThings.

He is passionate about patient safety and medical technology, with a continuous focus on both the patient and end-user experience. As a former enterprise union representative, he also recognizes that the increased complexity and number of patients can’t be continually met with increased budgets and staffing. In his opinion, technological innovations play an increasingly important role in our modernized healthcare and related challenges.

Virginia E. Vegas is a venture expert dedicated to strengthening capital markets, entrepreneurship, and innovation across the Nordics and Europe. With a background in law and economics, she spearheads programs like Venture Challenge and collaborates on initiatives like the EIT Supernovas, empowering investors, emerging fund managers, and founders. Virginia has trained hundreds of individuals throughout Europe, facilitated significant investment into promising startups, and supports fund managers in capital formation strategies. She has closely worked with organizations like Nordic Innovation, the European Institute of Technology, and Innovation Norway to achieve their innovation goals.

Anita Krohn Traaseth is group leader of the family-owned investment company DSD AS (Det Stavangerske Dampskibsselskap) and board member of the European Innovation Council (EIC). She previously led the government’s committee for innovation and growth in the green sector towards 2035. She was CEO of Innovation Norway (2014-2019) and became the first female CEO of Hewlett-Packard Norway in 2012. She started her working career as a trainee at IBM Norway in 1996.

Gustav From is a chief physician in gastroenterology at the Capital Region with a PhD in health informatics. Since the late 90s, he has been working on quality development and health informatics at practical, tactical, strategic, and academic levels.

He has held a range of formal roles regarding the  Health Platform (Sundhedsplatformen), ranging from being a super user loaned for bedside support during implementation at new hospitals, to recently being the clinical leader for the team of programmers and analysts developing solutions for observation and treatment of patients at home.

Currently, he works at Rigshospitalet, focusing on the Human-Computer-Interaction i.e., the interdependencies between clinic, IT solutions, and organization. Here, clinical needs are specified to be covered by standardized solutions, and conversely, IT solutions are designed to be open and flexible enough to accommodate clinical and organizational variations and realities.

Morstøl is CEO of Bliksund AS – a supplier of digital tools for the emergency services. In the last three years, Bliksund has experienced substantial growth with a revenue of 100 million NOK and customers in more than 30 countries. Over the last decades, Morstøl has helped build several global technology companies. Through leading roles in companies such as Tandberg Television, Zonavi and Maritech, she has contributed to position Norwegian innovation companies internationally. Morstøl sits on the board on several Norwegian growth companies and hold lectures on innovation and tech at colleges.

Thorkildsen is a specialist in cancer orthopedics and have worked for 13 years at Radiumhospitalet in OUS as a surgeon in the interdisciplinary sarcoma group. He is an active researcher and have a PhD in epidemiology related to a rare cancer called chondrosarcoma. He now work as an assistant subject director in Medicine and Health Sciences – Vestre Viken HF where lead the medicines committee and develop their virtual hospital unit.
