Session 1: Covid-19, the world and us
Wed Sept 23rd 09:00 – 09:45
The world was thrown into a turmoil when Covid-19 hit. Countries handled the challenge differently and with different results. Even if we are not in the clear of the pandemic, Norway seems to have chosen a good strategy and the world is looking our way. There is a global need for health solutions and Norway is attractive.
We invite key opinion leaders to discuss the Covid-19. How is the world responding and what are the future challenges? Why is Norway attractive as a provider for sustainable and innovative solutions?
- Key-note: Business as unusual: How the COVID pandemic and the NCD epidemic have brought about a deadly interplay and how the world has to Build Back Better Differently. World Health Organization, Bente Mikkelsen
- Norway’s perspective and strategy, what did we learn, how did we react, what are the results. Kathrine Myhre, Norway Health Tech
- The story of Roche supplying the Norwegian healthcare sector with two diagnostics machines overnight, making Norway capable of testing when the need was at its highest. Why did we prioritize Norway? Roche Diagnostics, Daniel Malarek – Country Manager Norway
- Summing up – what is to come and how to meet the challenges ahead. Kathrine Myhre Norway Health Tech
- Wrap-up and close by moderator, 2 min
Moderated by Norway Health Tech Anita Moe Larsen
Session 2 – The value of Health Data
Wed Sept 23rd – 10:00 – 10:45
In collaboration with Norwegian Cancer Society (Kreftforeningen)
In a world that is increasingly digital and where data is accumulated by the second, the question of ethics and ownership is more relevant than ever. For health data, this can be a matter of life or death.
Health data is a complex and widely discussed topic. It covers aspects ranging from technology, innovation and knowledge to governance, politics, and ethics.
In this session we will explore the value of health data from different perspectives and in a range of contexts. What are the opportunities and risks that come with using, or not using, health data? How do we ensure that health data creates real and equitable value for patients? Who should own health data? Is there potential for value creation from health data in the public sector, or is the private sector racing too far ahead? How do we strike a right balance between data access and data protection? Do we have the knowledge and competence to handle ethical challenges in line with societal values? And much more.
Program:
- Introduction and setting the stage by Sigrid Bratlie
- Value of health data for the patient by Ingrid Stenstadvold Ross
- Ethics in health data by Leonora Onarheim Bergsjø
- Putting data to use in healthcare by Stein Olav Skrøvseth, Norwegian centre for E-health research
- Accessing health data in scientific research by Morten Dalsmo, Sintef Digital
- Fireside chat with all participants (15 minutes)
Session 3: Going Global – challenges and opportunities
Wed Sept 23rd 11:00 – 11:45
As the world turns to Norway in search of answers to their challenges, we must answer with innovation and sustainable solutions built on the Norwegian values of quality, sustainability, and equality.
Setting the stage: What does the world need? The Southeast Asia region is a good example of challenges in healthcare; a growing elderly population, big differences in living standard, mix of rural and heavy populated areas, healthcare services varying from highly sophisticated to very basic… We have invited Norway’s first ambassador to the region in ASEAN (https://asean.org/) mr Morten Høglund to give us an introduction of the market, the main challenges and what is expected of the Norwegian innovative health industry.
Following Mr Høglund’s presentation, we will have a dialogue with companies that have succeeded in entering new markets where they will tell us about their success, but also what didn’t work – lessons learned.
In panel: in addition to Morten Høglund: Medistim – Kari Krogstad, Dignio – Lars C. Dahle, Sonitor – Arne Øyen, Norway Health Tech – Trine Radmann
Facilitated by Norway Health Tech; Kathrine Myhre
