Sharon Vosmek was appointed CEO of Astia in 2007, and she’s been transforming the global organization ever since. As former COO, Ms. Vosmek has a deep-rooted commitment to the success of the company, and its mission to level the investment playing field for entrepreneurial teams with women leaders, connecting the right investors to the right entrepreneurs at the right time. Under her leadership, Astia has grown from 20 individuals in Silicon Valley to the global community of more than 5,000 investors, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders that make up its investment  ecosystem today. Well-regarded around the globe, Ms. Vosmek is known for her opinions, research and commentary on the importance of women leaders as integral to innovation and high-performing entrepreneurial teams.

A highly sought-after speaker, Ms. Vosmek has spoken at the United Nations, the Milken Institute’s Global Conference and California Summit, and given lectures at numerous universities on the topic of building inclusive ecosystems, most notably at Stanford and MIT. She was also invited to participate in The White House Women’s Entrepreneurship Conference; the Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship led by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton; and in 2011, she as a US Delegate to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation’s (APEC) Women and the Economy Summit. Ms. Vosmek also sits on the Advisory Boards of venture capital firms, StarVest Partners and Illuminate Ventures; the Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst Experts Advisor Group; the AAAS-Lemelson Invention Ambassadors Advisory Committee; and on the “Making Value for America” expert advisory committee for the National Academy of Engineering.
