Julie Christiansen is coordinator for the Research Council of Norway’s cooperation with Japan and team leader for international contact persons in RCN.

Christiansen holds an academic degree (cand.polit.) in political science from the University of Oslo. She was affiliated to the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) from 2006-2007 where she studied U.S. Energy Policy and energy security. She worked three years as senior adviser in the Research Council of Norway’s Energy Department. Christiansen worked for many years as a political adviser to the Conservative Party Parliamentary Group in Norway with foreign and development policy as her field of work. She had an internship at Senator Richard G. Lugar’s office in 1995. She was elected Member of Parliament in 2001 and served one term until 2005 on the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs. Christiansen was member of the Executive Board of Save the Children Norway from 2007 to 2011.
