Uniguest delivers information systems to hospitals. By joining Norway Health Tech’s activities abroad, they are now ramping up efforts to take on the British market.
Uniguest is a global company with offices in nine countries. In 2022 Uniguest acquired the Norwegian digital engagement provider Otrum, which now functiona as Uniguest’s Norwegian office with an R&D division in Arendal and sales office in Oslo. Recently, the company signed contracts with the new Drammen Sykehus, Haraldsplass (Bergen) and Stavanger University Hospital.
The company delivers screen solutions with a range of features such as interactive maps, facility updates, physician directories, event calendars, and cafeteria menus through their digital signage solutions. Their cloud-based solutions also deliver entertainment content to waiting rooms and to patient beds.
The company’s strategy has been to expand their hospital and healthcare business throughout Europe. Being a member of Norway Health Tech has been useful as part of their brand building and sales efforts in big European markets. In September, Uniguest is taking part in the demo day at the Norwegian embassy and HETT Show – both in London on the 23rd and 24th of September.
– Norway Health Tech has been useful in exploring new markets and helped us network in Scandinavia, meet health trusts and build our brand in the healthcare segment, says Nigel Bateson who is a key member of the team in Norway, and leading the pre-sales effort across EMEA and Asia.
– One of our biggest customers is Royal Liverpool University Hospital, where we have installed 800 screens. The UK is becoming our biggest market in healthcare, and we have established a partnership with Airwave Europe which has a big presence in the market and helps us expand fast, says Bateson.
Originally, Otrum was established back in 1985. Being a technology company at the core, needless to say the company has been forced to change its business several times.
– We have lived through some big technological shifts. The first shift was from selling Set-top-boxes to integrated Smart-TVs. Then, around 10 years ago we changed our sales model from on-premise to cloud-based solutions, says Bateson.
That change transformed Uniguest into a software as a service (SaaS) company. This shift has been a driver for a fast-paced business development.
– The next development will be around enriched patient content. We see some interesting possibilities in the healthcare sector in the future, including some interesting work we are doing together with DNV Imatis and the patient’s records, says Bateson.
Norway Health Tech’s work with internationalisation is supported by Stiftelsen Teknologiformidling.
