Janne Tvedt Morstøl has been elected Chair of the Board at Norway Health Tech. The election took place at the General Assembly in June 2025. Morstøl is the CEO of the health tech company Bliksund and brings extensive experience from the tech industry both in Norway and internationally.
– With Janne as Chair, we gain a clear and engaged voice who understands the complexity of the healthcare system – and at the same time sees opportunities for growth and export in Norway’s health industry, says Lena Nymo Helli, CEO of Norway Health Tech.
She succeeds Iacob Mathiesen, CSO at Otivio, who steps down after five years as Chair. He has done an excellent job during a transformative period for the cluster – marked by strong growth, increased visibility, and strategic decisions.
Morstøl has held senior executive and board roles in technology companies with international growth ambitions. She has particular experience in strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and in building companies at the intersection of technology and critical public services.
She sees the role as Chair as an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of the most important transitions Norway is facing: the development of a sustainable and export-oriented health industry. She was especially motivated by Norway Health Tech’s position as a unifying actor for the entire ecosystem – from startups and research communities to hospitals and international companies. Being part of further developing this platform and delivering tangible results for the Norwegian health industry was a challenge she could not turn down.
A board to drive growth
In 2025, Norway Health Tech and Norwegian Smart Care Cluster merged into one national health cluster – now with 360 members across the full healthcare ecosystem. The board will play a key role in unlocking the potential of this merger.
– Technology is evolving rapidly. To stay competitive in a global market, we must accelerate the growth of the health industry. The board plays a key role in setting direction and helping us prioritize accordingly, says Nymo Helli.
For the year ahead, Morstøl highlights the importance of supporting the management in further developing the organization’s strategic direction and ensuring it has the capacity and competence to deliver. A central goal will be to clarify how Norway Health Tech will contribute to doubling Norway’s health industry exports by 2030. At the same time, she sees the organization as a key voice in the national health debate and a catalyst for innovation, collaboration, and commercialization.
Strengthening Norwegian health tech
Morstøl emphasizes the cluster’s essential role as a bridge builder and driver of a strong health industry. Norway Health Tech connects technological solutions with real needs in the healthcare system and helps ensure that innovations reach patients – both in Norway and abroad. She sees the cluster as a key actor in realizing Norway’s potential as a leading nation in health tech, powered by quality, sustainability, and export capacity.
A new board for a new phase
The new board of Norway Health Tech includes representatives from across the ecosystem – industry, academia, hospitals, and public sector. This board enters a critical phase for strengthening collaboration and promoting growth in Norwegian health technology.
