HealthTech Nordic’s continuation: aim to create 1 000 new jobs

HealthTech Nordic, which was recently praised by the European Commission as Europe’s best startup and entrepreneurship support project, continues. A new project with a new aim of creating 1 000 new jobs until September 2022 will commence as the current project ends at the turn of the year.

The new project also focuses on creating jobs. The goal is to create at least 1 000 new healthtech jobs in the Öresund-Kattegatt-Skagerack region, ie southern Norway, eastern Denmark and southwestern Sweden. By providing decisive support to member companies in HealthTech Nordic, the companies’ development will accelerate so that they can grow faster internationally, thereby contributing to creating better health globally and new jobs in the Nordic region.

– The healthtech industry globally is still in its infancy, but the Nordic region is setup brilliantly. With the right support, the Nordic companies with their world-class healthtech solutions, can quickly grow internationally, and entrench the Nordic region as a world leader in the new healthtech industry, says Marianne Larsson, Director of HealthTech Nordic at Innovation Skåne.

The international attraction for the new solutions developed by the member companies lies in the fact that they enable a digital paradigm shift in healthcare, which leads to lower costs as well as better health and higher quality of care.

A seventh actor will join the partnership in the new project, Health Tech Hub Copenhagen in Denmark. The current six partners will stay on. The seven innovation partners running HealthTech Nordic from the start of the new year are Innovation Skåne, Invest in Skåne, Sahlgrenska Science Park and SmiLe Incubator in Sweden and COBIS and Health Tech Hub Copenhagen in Denmark and Norway Health Tech.
