TEXGHS at SXSW 2021: Global Health Security Demo Day

17 March
14:30 - 23:00

Online

Are you looking at the US as a potential market for your company? Then this is an excellent opportunity to take down the barriers of entry. You will learn how, connect with important stakeholders, get updated on funding opportunities and in general – get a one day crash course on US marked access – the Texan way.

The Texas Global Health Security Innovation Consortium (TEXGHS) is launching the inaugural TEXGHS Global Health Security Demo Day as an official event of the South by Southwest (SXSW) Online 2021 conference. This event will highlight market ready technologies that are impacting the ability to prevent, predict, detect, and respond to pandemic infectious disease threats. Participating companies will highlight innovations focused on community resiliency and recovery from COVID-19 and future health security challenges.

The pandemic has demonstrated a crucial need for increased international cooperation. Norway has a strong innovation ecosystem for developing health-related technologies, and this event is based on a collaboration between the USA, Australia, Denmark, South-Africa and Norway, and it will be opened by the Norwegian Minister of health and care, Mr. Bent Høie.

Mr Høie is the only minister attending. This means that the Norwegian government sees the value and necessity for a international collaboration, and therefore puts the event high on its agenda. This gives Norway good visibility and attention.

If you are looking at the US as a potential market, and Texas as a possible entry point, then this really is a unique opportunity. You will get so much important information about regulatory issues, testing and verification opportunities, funding mechanisms, market entry tools and introduction to the ecosystem that TEXGHS is representing.

The Norwegian General Consulate in Houston is an important partner of TEXGHS, and is hosting the event from Norway’s side together with Oslo Cancer Cluster, Norwegian Smart Care Cluster, The Life Science Cluster and Norway Health Tech.

5 Norwegian companies are pitching their solution during the event, which is free to attend. The companies are Dignio, Decon-X, EpiGuard, Respinor and NorseFeedback

This event is relevant for all but especially recommended for all those working at the intersection of technology and health security; entrepreneurs, technologists, startups, funders, NGOs, technology investors, scientists, government representatives, technicians, healthcare professionals, students, international organization representatives.
