Connected care technology has been deemed by the program stakeholders as an area of high social priority as well as high innovation potential. The purpose of implementing connected care technology is to give people an opportunity to better live their lives with health issues.

The program, Business Development, Innovation and SMEs Bulgaria is a business development program aiming to increase value creation and sustainable growth in Bulgarian business sector. The Program is part of Norway Grants 2014-2021 financial mechanism meant to contribute to the reduction of economic and social disparities in the European Economic Area (EEA) and to strengthen the bilateral relations between Norway and the Beneficiary States.

The program will  support early phase companies to develop connected care solutions designed to meet future societal challenges, including demographic trends towards an aging society. It is planned to support new product development (rather than improving existing ones) and commercialization, that answer end users’ needs. The target group is the private sector, and the end beneficiaries are mainly the elderly.
