Programme for User-driven Research-based Innovation (BIA)

Within the scope of its responsibility, the BIA programme seeks to promote the greatest possible value creation in Norwegian trade and industry through research-based innovation in companies and the R&D groups with which they cooperate. To reach this objective, the activities of the programme will be focused on achieving the following outcomes:

  • Increased investment in research-based innovation in trade and industry;
  • A higher level of aspiration and expertise in the companies’ own R&D activity;
  • Higher quality in the national R&D groups used to generate innovation in trade and industry.

Research and Innovation in the Municipal Sector (FORKOMMUNE)

The FORKOMMUNE programme will generate new knowledge and establish closer links between the municipal sector, research groups and other knowledge actors in order to equip the municipal sector to better meet existing and future needs.

The FORKOMMUNE programme is a user-driven innovation programme designed to encourage innovation in the municipal sector and to assist the sector in using research to strengthen its ability and capacity to innovate.

Planned deadline: NOK 450 million for Innovation Projects for the Industrial Sector based on companies

The BIA programme is planning to issue a call for proposals for Innovation Projects for the Industrial Sector with an application deadline of 11 October 2017.

Amount of funding presumed available for this call for proposals:

NOK 450 million is expected to be available for new Innovation Projects for the Industrial Sector with start-up in 2018. This funding will be distributed over a project period of maximum four years. Innovation projects under the BIA programme generally receive NOK 1–4 million in funding from the Research Council per year, which comprises normally 35–40 per cent of approved project costs depending on the type of activity, the size of the company and its R&D experience. Support awarded by the Research Council must be in compliance with the state aid rules.

Aleap - the incubator for health startups

Aleapa non-profit incubator, offers a community for health startups. Their mission is to facilitate innovation and value creation by developing an ecosystem for ambitious health entrepreneurs and companies to create new products better and faster. This by offering a broad range of critical know-how, expertise, infrastructure and international business networks.

Aleap believes that entrepreneurship and successful startups will benefit from collaboration in a multidisciplinary environment with proactive sharing.

Norway Health Tech’s EU Program promotes Innovation in Norwegian healthcare sector by establishing collaboration and project financing using European funding tools Horizon2020. The program aims to enhance the competitiveness of healthcare industry in Norway, by increasing their participation in EU funded projects and open doors for international collaboration, access to risk capital, collaboration with European multidisciplinary R&D players and industrial leaders.
