NORDIC PROOF: Kickoff for a speedy test process at Oslo Science Park

Nordic Proof is a network of professional test facilities at the leading hospitals in the Nordic Region. They have agreed to establish a one point entry for industry collaboration. Over 140 participants will gather for a full day at Oslo Science Park in Oslo.

The main target of Nordic Proof is to ease the access to users and health professionals and speed up the process for testing and verification of medtech and e-health solutions. On Wednesday the 8th of November 2017 leaders from Nordic hospitals and municipal care organizations will gather together at Oslo Science Park to present test facilities in the Nordic region.

It’s the kickoff of Nordic Proof in Oslo.

– These prominent leaders will get in contact with companies that have solutions which can contribute to transform healthcare. The ecosystem for testing and implementation of medtech equipment and e-health solutions needs to be refined and developed, Bent-Håkon Lauritzen says.

For a couple of years he has followed the development of test facilities in the Nordic countries. He has been the coordinator of one of the Nordic Innovation funded projects, called “Nordic Network of Test Beds”.

Key factors in the collaboration
– We have had many clinical trials for development of new drugs, but the Intervention Centre at Oslo University Hospital, Sunnaas Hospital and some others have developed departments for industry collaboration. They will now strengthen their competence and visibility though partnership with Nordic Proof, Bent-Håkon says.

There are three test bed projects that have been financed through Nordic Innovation as part of the Nordic ministers’ initiative. The Nordic ministers of business and innovation’s wish to transform our part of the world into a leading region in developing and exporting innovative health and welfare solutions.

Bent-Håkon is quite certain that the emergence of new testing facilities will contribute to:
* Patients getting access to new and better treatment methods and get closer follow up
* Health professionals working hands on with latest R&D, and get insight into new treatment methods and new competence
* Hospitals receiving extra funding for patient treatment, that benefit other areas
* Society getting higher value creation through employment and taxation from companies

The Minister will voice his opinion
There will representatives from Denmark as well as Erik Fosse and Bent Høie, the Minister of Health and Care Services present on Wednesday’s kickoff

– Sharing of best practice and development of Nordic Proof as a one entry for industry collaboration is the main deliverable from Nordic Network and Test Beds projects. With more than 140 participants, we gather the Nordic testing community from hospitals and municipalities for a full day presenting new initiatives and discussing models for testing collaboration between industry and healthcare. Being three Nordic projects organizing the event together have gained a lot of attention. We are happy to be the host of such an event, Bent-Håkon says.
