Should you file a patent application in Norway or USA first?

08 juni
10:00 - 11:30

Medical Growth House

The US is most likely your biggest market, regardless of your industry focus. The US is unfortunately also more litigation focused when it comes to IP than other regions. Does that mean the best IP strategy is to file for patents in the US first, before other regions? Maybe… maybe not.
Join Leogriff for a presentation and discussion on the pros and cons of filing patent applications in Norway before the US, and vice versa.

Navigating US business culture and legal environment
We will also have a session on the differences in legal and business culture between Norway and the US, presented by former Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Tandberg, ASA which was later acquired by Cisco Systems, Inc. The focus will be on real interactions between Americans and Norwegians.

NDAs – Vital Protection or an obstacle to doing business?
Lastly, we will discuss differences when it comes to NDAs from a US point of view and a Norwegian point of view. What do you do when a potential US partner shows up with a 30-page NDA and you have a 3-page template downloaded from the web?

Leogriff is happy to host the US legal partners, Peri & Stewart LLC, who will present on legal culture and NDAs.
